Sparking conversations

  • Pushkin Hall 165 W. 86th Street, second floor New York, New York, 10027 USA (map)

OrchestraOne teams up with the New York based ensemble Spark Duo to present two interactive performance events in Manhattan and Brooklyn. “Sparking Conversations” is a program that combines the performance of new music written by New York based composers with real-time conversation and discussion about the music led by the performers and Music Director Eric Mahl.

The music, all for Trumpet and Clarinet by composers including Inti Figgis-Vizueta, Gemma Peacocke and Samuel Zagnit, use various musical gestures and elements to tell personal stories of family, identity, connection and of course, “Home”. The event aims to explore these complex ideas, how the composer was able to express them through music, and what they mean to us

As are all OrchestraOne’s community-based events, this event is FREE and open to the public. If you are able, please consider making a 10-20 dollar donation to help us keep our concerts and activities as inclusive as possible. Thank you!
